Classically trained, Izum finds inspiration in the ideals of antiquity, influenced by both western and eastern cultures. His main inspiration comes from the environment around him, with its indefinite changes.
Mainly working in landscape, Izum attempts to reflect the changing unpredictability of Nature in his work. Izum intends to look at nature differently each time, asking different questions, making mistakes and learning from them. The accidents and mistakes that happen along the way for the artist are the precious findings that help the work develop.
The choice of his mediums – oil paint, ink, plaster, sand – associated with unpredictability and accident – supports his endeavours.
Izum exhibits extensively in Moscow, his works are in private collection across Russia and Europe.
